Overview

Cheeverstown House is a Section 38 voluntary organisation that provides Services on behalf of the Health Services Executive (HSE) to over 450 children and adults with an intellectual disability through its 550 staff across various locations. Service delivery is in both day-care and residential settings and the organisation also provides extensive support for the families of service users. 

The mission of Cheeverstown House is to enable people with an intellectual disability to have full and meaningful lives through person centered services in partnership with their families.

Reporting to the Non-Executive Chairperson and the Voluntary Board of Directors, the
Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the direction, management and administration of the service ensuring the provision of the complete range of services required to enable the people we support achieve positive outcomes. 

The Chief Executive Officer will lead the Executive Management Team and Service Managers.  There are over 550 staff members and volunteers in total and an annual budget allocation of approximately €25 million.  Key relationships include: the service users and their families, the Board, Health Service Executive at National and regional levels, HIQA, Charity Regulators Office and other organisations representing the interests of service users and their families. 

This is a highly demanding but rewarding post, which requires exceptional strategic vision, outstanding leadership, governance, finance transformation and management abilities. 

It is expected that applicants will have significant experience at Senior Management level with responsibility for service provision, staff and operational budgets of comparable complexity.  Excellent interpersonal skills, energy, enthusiasm, a sense of vision, ability to implement organizational change, the generation of alternative ideas and a capacity and natural affinity to managing sensitive situations as they arise are key requirements for the role.
